A barcode that does not scan is worse than no barcode at all. These simple checks, together with the Barcode Generator, help every label scan on the first try.
Long codes need wider labels. If the tool warns that bars are very thin, use a larger label or a shorter code - thin bars are hard for scanners and thermal printers.
Always print at 100% scale. Fit to page shrinks the bars and moves labels off the sheet.
Black bars on white labels work best. Light colours, glossy stock and dark backgrounds all reduce scanning success.
Scanners need blank space on both sides of the barcode. Do not place text or borders right next to the bars.
